Secret information: upon booking this itinerary the Travel Designer reveals additional information with tips.

Today is planned for you to walk a lot and visit three of the most iconic places in Paris:

  • Eiffel Tower
  • Champs-Élysées
  • Arc de Triomphe

I recommend checking the weather forecast and bringing a small backpack with water and some snacks. Get ready to walk as if hypnotized by the splendor of Paris.

For those who book one of my itineraries with this travel day, I have prepared a map with the route and additional tips for you to enjoy to the fullest.

Field of Mars and Eiffel Tower

The Eiffel Tower can be seen from many places in Paris because it is really tall. Nevertheless, I think it is worth dedicating a day to visit the Eiffel Tower.

You can find the types of tickets at the following link:

I have only been up once many years ago and I remember enjoying the experience very much. But now, after returning to Paris many times, I value being in the surroundings more and avoiding all the tourists who crowd in.

If it's your first time in Paris and you have never been up the Eiffel Tower, I definitely recommend going up. Remember to book your ticket in advance.

As you can see, there are various types of tickets and in some you don't go all the way to the top. With some tickets, you use the stairs and with others an elevator. The one you choose will depend on your physical condition and how much you want to spend.

In short, I recommend arriving by bus (that way you see Paris on the way) to the Ecole Militaire station. You can also go by Metro and get off at the Ecole Militarie station. Leaving the station, there is a small Carefour City supermarket where I recommend buying something to eat and drink.

With your provisions ready, walk towards the Eiffel Tower through Campo Marte. If it's summer, you will see people enjoying their picnics while being surrounded by the impressive scenery of the garden with the Eiffel Tower. The good thing is that you also have your provisions to be part of the atmosphere.

Walking all the way through Campo Marte towards the Eiffel Tower will allow you to feel how beautiful Paris is and appreciate the Eiffel Tower in its entirety.

Continue until you reach the River Seine and arrive at the Trocadero Square to take one last photograph and say goodbye to the Eiffel Tower.

Trocadero Square, Museum of Modern Art in Paris, Flame of Liberty, and Champs Elysees.

I usually suggest this activity after visiting the Eiffel Tower. You can also do it in the opposite direction if you are near the Alexandre III Bridge.

If you just took the typical picture from Plaza Trocadero with the Eiffel Tower in the background, I have to tell you that there may be an even better place to take a photo with the Eiffel Tower in the background.

The terrace of the Museum of Modern Art in Paris has a beautiful view of the Eiffel Tower for most of the year. If you go in summer, you probably won't have such a nice view because the trees block the view.

But we are not only going to visit the Museum of Modern Art in Paris to take a photo with the Eiffel Tower in the background. I recommend seeing the gigantic work by Raoul Dufy, the Electricity Fair. The entrance to the museum is free to see this section of the museum. There is also a very nice little café where you can have something to drink.

Then I recommend walking to Diana Square where you will find the Statue of Liberty Flame. The square is named like this because it was here in this tunnel where Lady Diana of England died.

Finally, walk down George V Avenue towards Champs Elysees. I like to recommend walking down this street because it is one of the most elegant and expensive in all of Paris. You will see cars, shops, luxury hotels, and restaurants.

At the end of the avenue, you will reach Champs Elysees.

Visit the Arc de Triomphe and Champs-Élysées

Champs-Élysées is probably the most famous avenue in Paris and probably in the whole world. The place is so beautiful that it has been the inspiration for the construction of avenues in different parts of the world like Paseo de la Reforma Avenue in Mexico City or Avenida de la Libertad in Lisbon.

There are also songs dedicated to the avenue like "Aux Champs Elysees" by Joe Dassin (famous in France).

The most important monument of Champs-Élysées is the Arc de Triomphe.

The Arc de Triomphe is one of the most representative monuments in Paris and the most famous arch in the world. It honors the fallen heroes and the victories of the French army under the command of Napoleon Bonaparte. If you want to get close or climb the arch, BE CAREFUL and do not cross the street with the cars. The entrance to the center of the roundabout is through an underground tunnel that is not so obvious.

You can climb to the highest part of the Arc de Triomphe, the entrance fee today is 13 euros and I recommend buying your ticket in advance. I have never entered as it seems a bit expensive to me and I think you can see everything very well from below. This is the website to buy the tickets https://www.paris-arc-de-triomphe.fr/es/
