Travel Designer Review:
In Spain, it is customary to have a simple coffee and a bread for breakfast in the morning, just like in most parts of Europe. Mexicans and many other inhabitants of America, however, prefer to have a hearty breakfast. That's why I usually recommend hotels with good breakfasts in my itineraries.
Whether your accommodation includes breakfast or not, I will recommend you to stop by a Museo de Jamón or a café on your way to Parque del Retiro. Those who book one of the itineraries I have created for this day will receive information about one of the Museos del Jamón/Cafesitos that I particularly like near Parque del Retiro.
The suggested activity mainly consists of taking a walk in Parque del Retiro early in the morning. The reason is that there are not many places open (museums open at 10 am) and the atmosphere in the park is very pleasant in the morning.
In addition, there are many things to see and we need to make the most of our time to do everything.
If you prefer a bread and coffee breakfast, there are shops in Parque del Retiro and you will surely find them along the way, as they are everywhere.
Enjoy your walk in Parque del Retiro. In the center of the park, there is a small lake that you must visit, and where you can take a boat ride. Another place you can't miss is El Palacio de Cristal.
Madrid is a spectacular city and has many things to offer tourists. I'm going to suggest a walk that you can do to see the most important monuments. The time it takes you to see each place and do the walk depends a lot on you.
For this reason, I can't give you a fixed schedule for each thing to do.
The idea of this plan is for you to see all the important places and get an idea of where everything is and how long each visit will take.
If there's something in particular that you really like, go and visit it, but keep in mind that there are too many things to see. Calculate your times because the idea is to finish the walk in the afternoon in the museum area.
The Prado Museum offers free admission usually during the last two or three hours before closing (at 5 or 6pm depending on the day). I would recommend entering the Prado Museum for free and seeing the main works.
Next to Plaza Mayor and very close to the Royal Palace, I can recommend two places to eat or have a drink: San Miguel Market or Casa Lucio (reservation required), famous for making the most delicious broken eggs in Madrid.
The activities that may take you the most time are the visit to the Royal Palace and, returning to the museum area (either walking or by metro), the visit to the Reina Sofia Art Center.
Calculate your times! Remember that we want to return to the Prado Museum in the afternoon to enter for free.

The following suggested activities and notes are not included in the reservation of this itinerary. The Travel Designer included them so that you can optionally do them on your own during your trip.
This trip I have designed for two friends starting their journey from Mexico City. I decided to start the adventure in Paris and then take a flight from Paris to Barcelona and then take a fast train from Barcelona to Madrid.
