7:00 am - Start the day in Campeche

Wake up early and get ready for an exciting day exploring the Yucatan Peninsula. Start your day at a local café or bakery in Campeche to enjoy a quick traditional breakfast of panuchos, empanadas, or cochinita pibil accompanied by a refreshing glass of horchata or a hot cup of coffee.

8:00 am - Depart Campeche for Calakmul

Begin your road trip by car to the Calakmul Biosphere Reserve, which is approximately a 4-hour drive from Campeche. Along the way, admire the beautiful scenery and wildlife of the Yucatan Peninsula.

12:00 pm - Arrive at Calakmul Ruins

Upon arrival at the Calakmul ruins, spend some time exploring the ancient Maya city. The site, hidden deep within the rainforest, is home to a variety of structures such as the Great Pyramid, ancient residential areas, and well-preserved stelae. Take a guided tour to learn more about the history, culture, and significance of this UNESCO World Heritage Site.

2:00 pm - Lunch Break

After spending a few hours exploring Calakmul, take a lunch break at a nearby restaurant or enjoy a packed lunch. Sample some local cuisine and recharge before hitting the road again.

3:00 pm - Continue the journey to Bacalar

Depart Calakmul and continue your journey to Bacalar, approximately a 3-hour drive away. This picturesque town is famous for its stunning seven-colored lagoon, known as Laguna Bacalar.

6:00 pm - Arrive in Bacalar and check-in at your accommodation

Upon arrival in Bacalar, check-in at your chosen hotel or guesthouse. Take some time to freshen up and relax after a day of travel and exploration.

7:30 pm - Dinner at La Playita Restaurant
